Healing Veterans

 through the outdoors!

"Forge a new path."

Pathfinders Outdoors' mission is to reduce the number of Veteran suicides that occur daily. The number of veteran suicides is currently at 22 suicides per day.  Our goal is to be able to touch thousands of veteran’s lives through the advent of the Pathfinders Outdoors Television Show.  We will be introducing veterans to outdoor activities including hunting, camping, hiking, fishing, ATV riding, animal watching, etc, along with all of the heartfelt camaraderie that is associated with these adventures.  We want to learn about the veterans and allow them to share their stories to convey to other veterans that being introduced to God’s creation, the outdoors, will enable those veterans who are struggling with PTSD or other disabilities to "forge a new path" in life.  This will allow these veterans to focus on something that is bigger than they are; God and the outdoors.  In addition, through our advocacy team, we will assist disabled veterans to be able to achieve and realize their full potential and abilities by hosting nature-based programs and outdoor adventures to redirect the inward mental focus to a much larger outdoor stage.  The advocacy team would be liaisons with other nonprofit organizations, nurses, and the Veterans Administration in order to assist veterans in finding the resources that are available to them; when possible, the advocacy team will help to facilitate the use and availability of these resources for the veteran.
